The EL-FLOW Select, by Bronkhorst

Hoskin Scientific Ltd. carries flow-measurement instruments by Bronkhorst High-Tech, like the EL-FLOW Select series of mass-flow meters and controllers. These are devices of modular construction with a “laboratory-style” pc-board housing, and users can mount control valves integrally or separately to measure and control gas flows throughout a wide range.

High accuracy, quick response, excellent repeatability, and compact, modular construction are among the many advantages of the EL-FLOW Select series.

Replacement with no adjustment required

These devices have a control-valve design, distinguished from the competition by its truly modular construction and the ability to be changed or field-replaced with no adjustment required. Each standard valve is normally closed and is available with Kv-values up to 1.5; Hoskin also supplies normally opened valves on request. For applications involving high (differential) pressures, patented constructions allow users to handle high flow and/or pressure at differential pressures as high as 400 bar in the EL-FLOW program. This capability is unmatched in the market.

Each model includes a digital pc-board with self-diagnostics, alarm and counter functions, digital communication, and remotely adjustable control settings. Customers get high flexibility from these digital instruments, due to the “multibus” concept, through which they can be enhanced with on-board interfaces with DeviceNet, PROFIBUS DP, Modbus, EtherCAT, or FLOW-BUS protocol.

The EL-FLOW Select series is available with optional Multi-Gas/Multi-Range functionality, which provides more flexibility for user selection of flow ranges and gas types. This maintains high accuracy and turndown range for measurement and control, which enables rescaling of the instruments onsite, thereby saving time and expense for mounting and dismounting. Bronkhorst has developed FlowTune, an easy-to-use software for adjusting the configuration of Select devices with an activated Multi-Fluid/Multi-Range option, for customer convenience.

Other key features include pressure ratings from 64 to 100 bar, electro-chemical polishing of all surfaces, and analog input/output signals with RS232 connection, with an optional onboard fieldbus interface. High-pressure models are available, as are metal sealed and/or down-ported models. Check out this video for a closer look:
