Hoskin carries the Extech 42512 thermometer.

Extech Instruments measurement solutions are available in Canada through Hoskin Scientific Ltd., such as the innovative Extech 42512 dual-laser infrared thermometer. This device features dual lasers for accurate targeting with a quick response time of only 0.15 of a second, as well as a backlit dual LCD display.

The Extech 42512 measures and displays non-contact temperature readings ranging from -50 to 1,000 degrees Celsius, and it comes with a pouch case and nine-volt battery.

Years of dependable service

A key feature of this dual-laser infrared thermometer is a distance-to-target ratio of 30 to one. This means that at 30 inches, the built-in dual lasers converge to a one-inch target spot to insure accurate targeting and temperature measurement. In addition, the adjustable emissivity feature enables measurement of the temperature of almost any surface. Customers will get years of dependable service with proper use and care of this meter.

To measure temperature, the user must hold the instrument by the handle and point it towards the surface to be measured. Next, pull and hold the trigger to turn the meter on and begin testing. The LCD display will immediately show the temperature reading, the maximum temperature reading, the SCAN icon, the emissivity value, and the unit of measure. When the trigger is released, the reading will hold for roughly seven seconds, with HOLD appearing on the display; then the meter will shut off automatically (unless the LOCK mode is set to ON). Temperature units can be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit via the switch inside the battery compartment.

The dual laser pointers are designed to cross at 75 centimetres; the spot size at this distance is a 2½-centimetre diameter, which is the recommended distance to target for most measurements. Other technical specifications of this dual-laser infrared thermometer from Hoskin:
