Festo Canada has just launched a line of pre-configured, assembled, and tested compressed air-preparation units, designed to ensure clean air in food and beverage production. These new solutions make specification and ordering quicker and easier than ever before – as each unit has a unique part number, as opposed to multiple modules.

The key advantage that customers yield from these air-preparation units is that they meet strict Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines, right out of the box.

Easy-to-read gauge simplifies pressure monitoring

The SQF guidelines require a final filtration stage of 0.01 of a micron and a particulate-removal efficiency of 99.999 per cent at the point of food and beverage contact. In addition, these air-preparation units cover most (if not all) requirements for airflow, connection-size, and particle-class ratings according to the standards of original-equipment manufacturers and maintenance, repair, and operations.

These products include the latest generation of modules in price and performance – including filter regulators, filters, lubricators, on/off valves, soft-start valves, and branching modules – that are available from Festo. The manufacturer can easily tamper-proof these units and/or add lockout/tagout functionality for added performance and safety. An easy-to-read gauge simplifies pressure monitoring, while a visual indicator identifies when the user needs to change a filter cartridge.
